Keep Doin’ Hard Things

So we know we’re supposed to Start Here and “do hard things right where we are.”

But want to know more about Do(ing) Hard Things?

Counterculture. Rising above the norm.

It started as a teenage rebellion against low expectations.  And now there are thousands of teens being “rebelutionaries” who do hard things.

In the spirit of our March of Books, we have a double giveaway of the Harris twins’ books this week.  Enter to win a copy of their new book Start Here by clicking right here! And today, you get a chance to win the book that started it all: Do Hard Things.

You never really take a break from doing hard things.  Once you are a rebelutionary, your mind-set changes…  You may not always be organizing some gigantic project, but you are always looking for ways to serve God and others in small, everyday ways.

  1. To serve God in the midst of my busy schedule. I have so many different things that go on, so many things people ask me to do, that it is sometimes really hard to discern which ones I should take responsibility for and which ones I should leave to others. I know that turning a deaf ear to the requests isn’t right so that leaves me always prayerfully considering the possibilities with lots of busy days.

  2. * to see each day that I spend at home with our children as an investment in eternity, and to keep that vision of sowing for God’s glory even during sleepless nights, early mornings, and times of tough disciplining.

  3. I believe that one hard thing God has called me to do is pour out my life in service to those who are around me… which doesn’t mean I won’t be looking for neighbors! My immediate surroundings are my closest missionfield and battleground. That’s not very specific, but hopefully fits the bill for this drawing.

    Blessings~

  4. To love and respect my Dad, even though it is very hard to do at times (do to reasons I will not state here). He is teaching me how to love him and others with Christ’s love.

    1. Congratulations, Jessica–you won the drawing for a copy of Do Hard Things! Praying for you as you do hard things for your Heavenly Father.

  5. One hard thing I believe God is calling me to do in the future is go on a mission trip. I am not sure where yet and I’m not even sure when. I thought it might be this summer because two different groups from my church are setting out on mission trips this summer however God closed those doors through work and school responsibilities. However, I am trusting Him to work out all the little details.
Like Charity, I also entered the other give-away. If I can’t enter both, then I would like to enter this one because I would like to read the original book first.
Thanks for the March of Books, by the way! It has proved so enjoyable to see all the books and book reviews!

  6. I believe the Lord would have me to write and publish books for His glory, books that will inspire young people to rise above the norm and serve God with their whole lives. It’s a lot harder than it sounds; studying, communicating effectively, writing in a colorful way… it’s difficult, but I believe that is what the Lord would have me to do! 🙂

  7. One hard thing I think God is calling me to do (like Jordan) is adopt sometime in the future – I don’t know if it will be when I’m a wife and mother, or a daughter living at home, but adoption is something that is very precious to me. I know many adopted kids, and they are so precious. Their ‘forever families’ have rescued them from a life of poverty, but God has rescued them overall. I would so love to be a part of that…

Just a question – I also entered the ‘Start Here’ giveaway – does that mean I’m ineligible to enter this giveaway?

Thank you so much YLCF ladies! 🙂
    Blessings,

  8. One hard thing that I believe God is calling me to do in the future is adopt from Africa. I don’t know whether I will be a sister to an African child, or if I’ll be a mommy to one (or more), or both!
